Human Rights

All people are created in the image of God, granting them inherent dignity and worth.

The Bible teaches concepts like equality, justice for the poor, and freedom, which have historically influenced the development of human rights principles and continue to inform Christian activism today.

Christian thinkers also played a significant role in creating foundational documents like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Eleanor Roosevelt was the driving force behind the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), serving as the first Chairperson of the UN Human Rights Commission and presiding over the drafting committee that created the document. Her efforts were crucial to its adoption in 1948, and she is also credited with changing the UDHR’s opening phrase from “All men are born free and equal” to “All human beings are born free and equal”.

Missionary Baptist Bible College is committed to training students in the Biblical teachings on the establishment, expansion, and preservation of Human Rights for all human beings everywhere. MBBC also provides Human Rights specific training for students who elect to pursue the Community Ministry program of specialized study.
