Church Covenant

Bethany Baptist Church Covenant

We, the members of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, having confessed our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and having been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, do covenant with one another:

To faithfully live our lives in such a way that we actively love God, one another, and ourselves;

To glorify God and encourage one another through the praise and prayer of congregational worship;

To study the Bible for knowledge to deepen our relationship with God, each other, and ourselves;

To pray for one another, the church, and for God’s peace and justice in the world;

To share the good news of God’s love with those we meet;

To serve in our communities and give to global missions;

To work to build the Beloved Community in our lives, our church, our communities, and throughout the world;

To respect each other’s faith journey, demonstrate tolerance and acceptance, and willingly resolve conflict in a spirit of love and patience;

To support one another in living this covenant by recognizing and encouraging the diverse spiritual gifts given to all people of this church community.
